Since 2021, Aurora has been running the “Shelf of Kindness” project — a specially designated space where employees can leave items they no longer use but that could still be useful to others. It’s a simple yet meaningful initiative that reminds us every day that conscious consumption starts with small steps. The Shelf of Kindness is not just a way to declutter; it’s an opportunity to support people in need while caring for the environment.
Items suitable for the Shelf of Kindness are clean, neat, and in good condition. Clothes that are heavily worn, stained, misshapen, or beyond repair can also be put to good use. Such textiles can be recycled into rags or materials for household needs. During the colder months, animal shelters gratefully accept sheets, blankets, pillows, and cloth diapers made of natural fabrics — another way to give items a second life.
Today, the Shelf of Kindness operates in three locations: the support office in Poltava, the distribution center in Lviv, and the distribution center in Vinnytsia. The most active participants bring items several times a month, and this consistency produces tangible results. In 2025 alone, thanks to collective efforts, nearly 4,305 kg of items were collected and donated to charitable and volunteer organizations. Among them are: NGO Warm Sweater, Charitable Organization Battalion of the Caring, NGO Common Cause, Charitable Organization Light of Hope, NGO Municipal Guard, Crisis Center We Are Near, Charitable Foundation Mykolaiv Good, Volunteer Organization With Ukraine in the Heart, NGO South Together, the Emmaus-Oselya community, and numerous volunteer groups. Thanks to this collaboration, aid reaches those who truly need it — internally displaced people, servicemen, and individuals facing difficult life circumstances.
By participating in the Shelf of Kindness, everyone takes several important steps at once. We reduce waste and promote reuse, help others in challenging times, foster healthy and conscious consumption, and inspire colleagues by setting an example.
“I take part in clothing drives because I believe in the power of good deeds. For me, it’s not just a way to declutter my wardrobe — it’s a chance to contribute to a shared cause, to share care with those who need it. I believe that each of us can help through small but meaningful actions,” says Olga Fedorova from the Corporate Learning Department.
The same sentiment is shared by Lyudmyla Misyura from the Corporate Learning Department: “For me, the Shelf of Kindness is an opportunity to give a little warmth and support to those in need. I’m glad to work for a company that initiates such projects and brings people together around good deeds, allowing us to do this together and feel part of something truly big and important.”
“Thank you for the opportunity to participate in such a kind and meaningful project as the Shelf of Kindness. It’s not just a chance to share things I no longer use, but a way to support others and do a small good deed that could really help someone. I believe that even simple actions can make the world a better place,” adds Olga Pysarieva from the IT Department.
