«The Kindness Shelf»: A Year of Giving by the Aurora Team

In April 2021, a project was launched on the grounds of Aurora’s support office to collect items for socially vulnerable groups.
At the “Kindness Shelf” donation point, any employee who wishes can bring neatly kept, washed, seasonal, and practical clothing, as well as clean, undamaged footwear.

"Have you ever wondered where your super cool old jeans end up when you throw them away?
Here’s the bad news — they just add to the massive piles of waste at landfills, polluting the environment.
But there’s good news too — you can give your old clothes a second life by passing them on to someone who truly needs them."

"I don’t want to pollute our planet. And when I bring clothes to the Kindness Shelf, I get a triple win:"

I clear out unnecessary things;

I avoid harming the environment;

And I do something good for others,"
shared Daria Pavlova, an Aurorian employee, about her involvement in the project.

The "Kindness Shelf" has been active for a year now, and during this time, four shipments of clothes have been collected and donated to the Poltava-based charity organization “Light of Hope.”
Their Crisis Center for Women and the Adaptation Center for the Homeless and Former Inmates constantly require men's, women's, and children's clothing.

"These clothes always find their new owners here.We’re proud to be supported by such a socially responsible business! Thank you for your ongoing care and commitment,"
noted representatives of Light of Hope.

With the onset of the war, the Kindness Shelf became even more relevant.
Clothes donated by Aurora employees proved helpful to colleagues who had evacuated from dangerous regions to Poltava.Additionally, a large batch of clothing and shoes was delivered to support internally displaced persons under the care of Light of Hope.

"I’ve gladly been part of the Kindness Shelf for a long time.This project allows me to support those going through tough times.Doing good makes me feel happy and inspired,"
shared Aurora volunteer Anna Prykhodchenko.

The donation point operates on a permanent basis and will soon be scaled up — another Kindness Shelf will be set up at the new Aurora distribution center in Vinnytsia.
