Supporting Recovery After Injury: Aurora Donates UAH 1 Million to the Neopalymi Program

Recovery after severe injuries often does not end with surgery or discharge from hospital. Treatment of scars, rehabilitation, and the gradual return to everyday life may still lie ahead. At Aurora, we want to stand by people throughout this part of their journey as well, which is why we donated UAH 1 million to the Neopalymi program.

Neopalymi provides free treatment to military personnel, veterans, civilians, and people released from captivity who have suffered burns, scars, and deformities as a result of the war. Our contribution enabled 10 patients to receive the treatment and rehabilitation procedures they needed.

“The war has changed what responsible business means in Ukraine. It is no longer about reputation or reporting — it is about being genuinely involved in what is happening to the people around us. Supporting the Neopalymi program is one example of how businesses can make a difference where the state and healthcare system cannot always meet every need on their own,” says Alona Zhyhura, Head of CSR at Aurora multimarket chain.

Every person’s road to recovery is different. Serhii Lozovoi says that time and the people closest to him helped him gradually return to everyday life:

“At first, it was difficult both physically and emotionally. But over time, when you return to everyday activities, work, and communicating with people, you begin to understand that you are moving forward. The support of the people close to me, especially my wife, helped enormously.”

Among the program’s patients is Ukrainian serviceman Viktor Kozlovets. In December 2024, he and his fellow soldiers were returning from a combat mission when their vehicle hit a mine. Viktor suffered severe injuries, including the traumatic amputation of both lower limbs. Today, he is receiving treatment through the Neopalymi program.

Over more than four years, approximately 350 military personnel and veterans and 150 civilians have received treatment or continue to receive care through the program.

“Support from businesses is an opportunity not only to thank veterans for their service and contribution to defending the country, but also to help them return to a fulfilling life — to their work, families, and professions,” says Maksym Turkevych, Executive Director of the Neopalymi program.

For us at Aurora, social responsibility is first and foremost about people and meaningful action. We aim to step in where we can make a real difference — and to do so systematically. In the first half of 2026 alone, we allocated UAH 164.8 million to charitable and social projects. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, our total contribution has reached UAH 929 million.
