June 14 marked the Strategic Project Conference, which brought together professionals in project management and business transformation. One of the conference speakers was Yevheniia Kucherenko, Head of the Project and Process Management Office at Aurora Multimarket.
In her presentation “From Chaos to Strategy (and Back Again a Few Times)”, Yevheniia shared hands-on experience in building a PMO within a rapidly growing company and demonstrated the real, unembellished side of establishing systematic project management—without templates or decorative approaches.
She emphasized that a project office is not about “beautiful plans” or Gantt charts, but about a company’s ability to consciously select the right projects, set priorities, and build a clear and logical sequence for their implementation. The talk included an honest discussion of the challenges businesses face during periods of active growth: high speed of change, ambitious goals, and constant pressure on resources. At the same time, the speaker highlighted what helps move forward—transparent processes, analytics, and a real strategy rather than a declarative one.
A special highlight of the conference was Aurora Multimarket receiving the Award for “Company Engagement in the Implementation of the LEO PPM IT Solution.” This recognition became an additional confirmation that the team is moving in the right direction and further strengthened motivation to develop the project office and scale a culture of systematic management.
In closing, Yevheniia voiced her ambitious goal: to build one of the strongest PMOs in Ukraine and Europe, and eventually in the world. The presentation was vivid, practical, and highly relatable for everyone working with projects in an environment of constant change.
