Aurora Joins National Accessibility Initiative "Movement Without Barriers"

Recently, CSR Leader Aliona Zhihura signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Kateryna Yamshchykova, Secretary of the Poltava City Council.

The goal of the Memorandum is to implement the pilot project "Movement Without Barriers", which focuses on the creation of accessible routes in urban areas. It also aims to uphold constitutional rights and social guarantees for every individual, recognizing that the absence of a barrier-free environment creates obstacles for millions of citizens.

“A special value for Aurora is the opportunity to become part of a holistic barrier-free ecosystem within the framework of the ‘Movement Without Barriers’ project. It is the integrated approach—covering not only services, but also transportation and pedestrian infrastructure—that forms the foundation for creating a comfortable environment for everyone,”

"Movement Without Barriers" is a flagship project of the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, launched under the initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska. Fifteen pilot cities and towns have been selected for its implementation: Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Ternopil, Lviv, Rivne, Chernivtsi, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Slavutych, Kropyvnytskyi, Bucha, and the towns of Opishnia and Borodianka. The project is being executed in partnership with the public organization “Bezbariernist” (Barrier-Free Society).

“Cooperation with businesses is a crucial step toward building an inclusive environment within communities. Together, we continue to work toward making cities comfortable and accessible for everyone—for people with disabilities, parents with strollers, elderly individuals, and veterans.
Barrier-free accessibility is about dignity, equality, and respect. It’s our shared path toward meaningful change,”
— Kateryna Yamshchykova, Secretary of Poltava City Council

At Aurora, we believe that ensuring access to basic administrative, educational, or medical services is only part of the solution. Just as important is the ability to feel comfortable in everyday spaces—such as retail outlets.
By joining the project, Aurora continues to pursue its mission: improving people’s everyday lives by making goods for the home and soul more accessible.
