“Aurora” Is Looking for an Inclusion Leader: A New Strategy for Accessibility and Equality Amid Modern Challenges

During the war in Ukraine, the role of a Chief Inclusion Officer holds particular importance, as it helps to create equal conditions for everyone, ensuring accessibility and support for those who need it most right now.

Our company has been paying attention to inclusion for several years, with team members from various departments contributing to this important direction. However, we’ve come to realize that for the systemic development of such a crucial area, we need a dedicated leader — someone who can become the ambassador of inclusion under the Aurora Multimarket brand.

This person should not only lead the inclusion efforts but also develop a clear strategy and begin its implementation across all levels of the company’s operations.

“That’s why we’ve opened the position of Chief Inclusion Officer. This role will be responsible for implementing solutions that ensure accessibility of the company’s facilities, products, and services for all groups of the population. This is not just a trend, but a necessity in times when businesses must adapt to the challenges society is facing. In today’s world, inclusion and accessibility are essential — especially in a country at war,”
– emphasized Aliona Zhygura, Head of CSR at Aurora Multimarket.

Key responsibilities of the Chief Inclusion Officer include:

Developing and implementing inclusive initiatives to ensure accessibility of the company’s spaces, services, and products for all customers and employees, especially people with disabilities;

Monitoring compliance with accessibility standards and conducting regular audits of facilities and services;

Organizing training sessions for employees on inclusion and equal opportunity topics;

Adapting workplaces for employees with disabilities, including veterans returning from the war, through technical solutions and accommodations;

Collaborating with NGOs to develop and implement joint inclusive projects.
