Despite the fact that the full-scale war has been ongoing for five months, the issue of living conditions in the army — which remain unadapted for women — is still unresolved.
According to updated data, around 50,000 women are currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
More than 38,000 of them are enlisted servicewomen, and 5,000 are deployed directly on the front lines. In addition to them, there are also civilian women working within the Armed Forces.

That is why the civic movement “Defense of Poltava,” together with the “Zemlyachky.Ukrainian Front” project — which provides female defenders with essential supplies — launched the initiative “For Her.”
The project could be supported financially or by donating ready-to-use hygiene kits for women. Requests for these kits are constant, as basic hygiene items inevitably run out.
Aurora also joined the initiative by assembling around one hundred hygiene kits for both women and men.
Some were delivered directly to Aurora employees serving in the military, and the rest were transferred to the “For Her” project.
The kits included the following essential items:
Men’s kit: shampoo-shower gel, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, disposable razors, shaving gel, wet wipes, socks, coffee, and an energy bar.
Women’s kit: deodorant, soap, shampoo-conditioner, disposable razors, wet wipes, toothpaste, toothbrush, face cream, hand cream, nail file, tampons and sanitary pads, coffee, and an energy bar.
These everyday items — so basic in civilian life — are often unavailable at the front. That’s why the responsibility for supplying defenders with them doesn’t lie solely with the state, but also with volunteer groups, civic organizations, and socially responsible businesses.
Aurora will continue to support defenders by assembling and delivering hygiene kits for both women and men serving in the Armed Forces.
