On October 10, 2025, Kyiv hosted the VII Forum of Legal Directors and In-House Counsel, which traditionally brought together leading experts in corporate law, compliance, and legal risk management. Among the speakers was Anna Kanina, Head of the Legal Department at Avrora, who presented on the topic “Business Expansion into New Markets: What Should In-House Lawyers Prepare For?”
In her presentation, Anna focused on the key aspects of preparing a company for international expansion from a legal perspective. She highlighted the importance of thoroughly analyzing regulatory requirements in each jurisdiction, building effective contractual relationships, and implementing compliance control as an integral part of entering new markets. Special emphasis was placed on strategic planning and engaging local advisors to mitigate potential risks.
Anna also drew attention to the need for a matrix-based approach to cross-functional collaboration within the company, where in-house lawyers act not only as legal experts but also as bearers of corporate culture and partners to the business in strategic decision-making.
Her presentation attracted significant interest among forum participants, as the topic of Ukrainian companies entering new markets remains one of the most relevant in today’s business landscape.
