On August 13, we held our traditional Donor Day — this time, 56 Aurora team members donated blood.
We were happy to see both new and familiar faces at the collective donation: solo donors and entire department teams joining together for this important initiative.

Aurora’s IT Department employees are no strangers to our corporate Donor Days. Among them are brothers Irakli and Timur Dzhakeli.
“My brother and I donate blood together. We also invited a few IT colleagues to join us in this important cause. We decided to become donors because our blood can truly save lives. After donating, you always feel good — you know you've done something meaningful. If someone is still unsure about donating, I’d say: don’t hesitate. Every drop of blood matters, especially in times of war.”- says Irakli.
Timur adds:
“Besides helping people in need of blood or its components, donating is also beneficial for your own health. I’d encourage everyone to try it once — and after that, the fear will be gone.”
The Legal Department team also sets a strong example when it comes to blood donation. Regular donors include Roman Verblyud, Pavlo Zybyn, Tetiana Sokol, Vladyslava Dotsenko, Dmytro Taranenko, Maryna Kukhta, and many others.
“Blood donation is a truly important act,” says Tetiana Sokol.
“Knowing that my blood can save someone’s life is a powerful motivator. I feel fulfilled knowing I’ve done something valuable for another person — and for society.”
The team follows medical advice closely before donating: getting enough rest, staying hydrated, avoiding intense physical activity, and eating properly.
“You can start small — even just by booking a consultation or a pre-donation checkup with a doctor to get guidance,” says Maryna Kukhta.
“After donating, I always feel proud to have done something good.”
Vladyslava Dotsenko believes the best motivation is helping others:
“You can save a life by giving just 15 minutes of your time — and it doesn’t hurt at all.”
Our next Aurora Donor Day will be held on October 17, after the mandatory 60-day break between whole blood donations.
