The "Avrora multimarket" chain, together with the NGO "La Strada – Ukraine", is running an informational campaign as part of the global initiative “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence”.
The goal is to draw attention to the issue of domestic and gender-based violence.
From November 25 to December 10, 2025, Ukraine will join the annual international campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.”
The chosen period is symbolic, linking two important dates: the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (November 25) and Human Rights Day (December 10). This connection highlights the relationship between violence against women and violations of human rights.
The Avrora retail chain is supporting this year’s campaign organized by the NGO La Strada – Ukraine. Throughout the initiative, posters with information on where to seek help in cases of violence will be placed near decorative cosmetics shelves in all Avrora stores.
Cosmetics can hide the traces of violence, but they cannot solve the problem.
Every day, thousands of people conceal pain and fear under layers of makeup, smiles, and silence. But violence does not disappear if we refuse to speak about it. That’s why it is important not to mask the problem but to act — seek help, support one another, and refuse to stay on the sidelines.
For Avrora, it is important to be close not only in everyday shopping but also in matters that relate to the safety and dignity of every person. Gender-based and domestic violence often remain unseen, yet they affect a significant number of people around us.
“We cannot stand aside, so together with La Strada – Ukraine, we are helping draw attention to the issue of gender-based violence and the ways survivors can get help. Even informational materials in stores can become a point of support for those who need it,”
— said Polina Lendel, Brand Director of the Avrora multimarket.
How to seek help?
The “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign aims to break the silence surrounding violence, show that seeking help is a sign of strength — not weakness — and provide clear, accessible information on where to turn for support.
Survivors of gender-based violence should not be left alone.

Every year, La Strada – Ukraine actively participates in the global “16 Days” campaign, as it is more than an informational initiative — it is a reminder of the need for continuous efforts to combat violence in all its forms.
“This year we are especially glad to be partnering with the Avrora multi-market chain. Thanks to its wide reach across Ukraine, we can deliver an important message to thousands of people: ‘Cosmetics can hide the traces of violence, but they cannot change the situation. Seek help.’”
— said Maryna Lehenka, President of La Strada – Ukraine.
For Avrora, building a society free from violence — one based on support and mutual respect — is a shared responsibility of businesses, civic organizations, and each of us. Change begins with care, and every time a person receives help thanks to awareness and the attentiveness of others, it signals movement in the right direction.
