Avrora, in partnership with the team at FAST First Aid and Special Training, implemented a project aimed at strengthening first aid skills among rescuers in the Poltava region. The initiative became an important contribution to enhancing the preparedness of those who work daily in high-risk conditions and are the first to arrive at emergency scenes.
State Emergency Service (SES) rescuers carry out an extremely complex and responsible mission: searching for people under rubble, rescuing victims from burning buildings, and eliminating the consequences of accidents and disasters. Amid the full-scale war, they are the first to respond to shelling, explosions, fires, and destruction. In such situations, the ability to provide fast and professional first aid often becomes decisive in saving lives.
In the spring of 2025, Avrora became a strategic partner of FAST First Aid and Special Training and funded first aid training sessions for rescuers in the Poltava region. More than 700 SES specialists have already completed the training.
“In times of war, the role of SES rescuers cannot be overstated. They are the first to arrive at emergency scenes and operate where every minute counts. Advanced training means confidence in one’s actions, well-practiced algorithms, and the ability to make decisions in critical conditions. We are proud to support the training of those who stand between danger and people’s lives every day,” said Yevheniia Zghurova, Director of FAST First Aid and Special Training.
By the end of 2025, training had been delivered to 35 groups under the guidance of FAST instructors. The program included cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), control of critical bleeding, stabilization of trauma patients, and response to blast injuries. A significant portion of the training focused on hands-on practice to ensure that rescuers’ actions in critical moments are precise and automatic. In addition, SES units received 21 training equipment kits and 20 vehicle first aid kits.
“We sincerely thank the rescuers for their daily courage and dedication, as well as the instructors who share life-saving knowledge and skills. For Avrora, supporting the training of rescuers is an investment in saving lives and strengthening community safety,” emphasized Alona Zhyhura, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at the Avrora multimarket chain.
Our joint initiative with FAST creates conditions in which rescuers have greater confidence in their actions and capabilities while performing their duties. The project has already received international recognition, becoming a finalist in the UN Global Compact in Ukraine’s “Partnership for Sustainability Award 2025” in the “Recovery of Ukraine” category.
