Career Path of Oleksandr Petryshyn, Head of the Retail Recruitment Division.

Oleksandr has been working at the company for 9 years, and as he says, "I didn’t find Aurora; Aurora found me!"

How did your journey with Aurora begin?

I was looking for a job and posted my resume on a website. I received a call and was invited for an interview. I was interested in the job and the company. I liked everything about it, except for mopping the floors at the end of the day, but what can you do 😅. I started as a salesperson, and within a week, I was offered the position of assistant administrator at a new store.

What motivated you to climb the career ladder?

Doing the same thing every day is not for me. I wanted more, something more exciting. As the company developed, I proposed many changes and innovations – they always met me halfway, approved my ideas, and supported me.

Did you face any challenges in your career journey?

If you can call them challenges, it would be the business trips when I worked as a training manager. However, I always received help and support during those times.

`Did you consider positions in the Support Office?

I wasn’t ready to relocate to Poltava, so I initially applied only for vacancies available in Cherkasy. I wasn’t selected, and that turned out to be great! Because of that, I am where I am today. Later, a vacancy for an HR manager opened up – and again, I wasn’t chosen. But I’m persistent, and on my fourth attempt, I successfully passed the interview for the position of Recruitment and Training Manager.

What advice would you give to those who want to grow at Aurora?

First of all, if it didn’t work out the first time – don’t give up! Keep trying, apply again! Secondly, keep developing yourself! We have amazing internal training programs, and we’re given the opportunity to learn English. Take an active part in the store’s activities: if you’re offered to assist the inventory commission – do it, if you’re asked to substitute at another store – go for it. Take advantage of all the opportunities the company provides! Join the gatherings – there, you’ll learn what’s happening in the company, what processes are underway, and why things are the way they are.

Complete the sentence: For me, Aurora is…

Something warm, cool, and innovative… Something that provides opportunities, never stands still, and is always exciting! I’ve been working here for 9 years, but every day I’m curious about how Aurora will change tomorrow. 🙂
