Yevhen started his journey with the company in 2012, and thanks to his ambition and love for challenges, he has built an engaging career and works with a team he proudly calls a family.
How did your journey with Avrora begin?
I had just finished school and needed a job for the summer. But in 2012, finding a job without experience was almost impossible. I went to the employment center, and they offered me a job as a promoter at Avrora — I didn’t even know what the job was or what kind of store it was, but I decided to give it a try.
And it turned out that this “summer job” has lasted for more than 10 years.
What motivated you to move forward in your career?
When I was working as a promoter, the girls in the store taught me how to operate the cash register. As soon as I felt I was getting tired of that role, I submitted my resume to the TM for a store assistant position. The same thing happened when I moved on to the roles of administrator and then TM.
What challenges did you face in your career path?
I guess I’ve been lucky: just when I started to feel that I had outgrown my position and wanted something more, a vacancy would appear that I was interested in — I would apply, and I got the job. So I wouldn’t say I faced any major difficulties.
The only challenge was working in positions where I was on my own, without a team. I didn’t stay in those roles for long.
You’ve been working in the training department for 7 years now — have you considered moving to another position?
Honestly? No. I enjoy my job, I constantly face interesting challenges, and I absolutely love our team. It’s important for me to feel needed. As a Training Coordinator, I feel needed by everyone, every day.
What advice can you give to those who want to grow at Avrora?
I don’t know any other company that provides such strong support for growth and development: they reimburse external training, help you find the right courses, offer free learning through the internal training center, as well as sports activities, charity initiatives, and more.
All you need is the willingness! Everything is set up so that you feel comfortable — and it’s up to you whether you take advantage of these opportunities.
Finish the sentence: Avrora for me is…
As cliché as it may sound — it’s a big family! Honestly! You don’t just go to work, you go to your second home — and I truly enjoy it. It feels like something of your own, something close and dear.
