Career Path of Daryna Yaremenko, Commercial Department Administrator

Daryna began her journey at Aurora as a Communications Manager and later successfully grew into the role of a LEAN Development Manager. Thanks to her persistence and drive for growth, during the preparation of this interview she advanced to the position of Commercial Department Administrator.

How did your journey at Aurora begin?

My sister, who was already part of the Aurora team, sent me a vacancy for a barista position at a new coffee shop opening in the company’s office. Since I had relevant experience, I decided to give it a try. I passed the interview and got the job.

However, after eight months, I realized that I wanted more. The job was physically demanding — I had to spend the whole day on my feet, serving a large flow of people. Despite this, I was truly inspired by the company: the way employees are treated, the corporate culture, and the amazing team motivated me to stay. That’s why I decided to try myself in Aurora’s contact center as a Communications Manager.

What motivated you to move forward in your career?

Part of my experience as a Communications Manager took place during the pandemic. For more than a year, I worked remotely, and over time I began to feel tired of the routine. I wanted new experiences, knowledge, and challenges. So when the office resumed its work, I started looking for a position that would match my aspirations and interests.

What challenges did you face along your career path?

To get the desired position of Corporate Trainer (Hard Skills), I had to go through more than one interview. At first, it was a bit intimidating to conduct training sessions, but I quickly adapted. One of the biggest challenges was delivering LEAN training. I developed training programs for the LMS, got familiar with the LPPD methodology, and learned how to implement it. I first completed LEAN training at the Yellow Belt level, and later at the Green Belt level.

Over time, thanks to the knowledge and training I gained, I joined the LEAN Excellence direction as a LEAN Development Manager.

Do you consider positions in other departments for yourself?

Yes, I’m eager to try myself in a different field, particularly in the commercial department. I’m really looking forward to the interview.

Have you ever considered working for other companies?

I’ve thought about it from time to time, but I’ve been working at Aurora for almost eight years and can’t imagine myself without this company.

What advice would you give to those who want to grow and develop at Aurora?

The key is to focus on what you truly enjoy. It’s important not just to change positions for the sake of change, but to find something that genuinely inspires you, motivates you, and supports your professional growth.
