Discussion: «The Road Home, Moving Forward: A Perspective on Veteran Reintegration»

“The Road Home, Moving Forward: A Perspective on Veteran Reintegration” is a discussion initiated by the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine as part of the activities of the Human Capital Committee. The main theme of the event was the challenges and opportunities faced by male and female Defenders as they transition back to civilian life, with a particular focus on employment issues.

Taras Panasenko, a Member of the Board of Directors at AmCham and Co-Founder of Aurora multi-markets, together with Dmytro Ustymenko, an IT specialist at Aurora and a veteran, discussed how business and society can contribute to creating conditions in which veterans—both men and women—can realize their professional potential. They also shared examples of successful veteran employment within their company.

Natalia Kalmykova, Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, and her Deputy, veteran Yuliia Kirillova, presented the government’s vision for supporting employers who are open to including veterans in their teams.

As signatories of the Veteran-Friendly Business Principles, we are actively working to create a supportive environment for veteran employment. We explore and implement best practices and maintain ongoing dialogue with our veteran employees to understand their needs and expectations.
