Maksym’s story at “Aurora” started by chance, but quickly grew into a true professional journey, where he continuously moved forward and strived for new opportunities. And today, as he says himself: “Aurora is a second home, and colleagues are family.”
How did you start your journey with Aurora?
My story at “Aurora” began by chance. My wife was applying for a job at a new distribution center in Vinnytsia and suggested that I try as well. At that time, we had just moved to the city, and I was actively looking for a job, so I decided to join — thinking it would only be temporary, just for a few weeks. But the warehouse was just opening, and I saw a great opportunity in it.
What motivated you to stay with the company?
I’m a person who enjoys learning new things. At that time, the distribution center was just opening, and processes needed to be set up — which made it really interesting. It was a challenge to meet the established targets and raise the bar even higher. I wanted to achieve what initially seemed impossible.
What were your impressions when the distribution center had just started operating?
To be honest, when I joined, I didn’t know anything about “Aurora” at all. I read some reviews, but decided to trust my own eyes — and when I saw the scale of the warehouse and the modern equipment, I realized this was something serious.
What motivated you to keep moving forward in your career?
I like taking responsibility and I know how to teach others. It’s easy for me to communicate my vision both to the team and to management. I’m not someone who stays in one place — it’s important for me to keep developing. This is reflected in my journey within the company, as I progressed from a goods receiver, to a forklift driver, to a shift supervisor — and now to the position of Head of the Unloading and Loading Unit in Lviv, which I currently hold.
What challenges did you face throughout your career path?
The most difficult time was when I became a senior shift supervisor in the unloading and loading unit. We didn’t fully understand the processes yet — how to load properly, what exactly needed to be done. But what I appreciate is that I’m not limited in my thinking. I can act as I see fit, as long as it’s safe.
Did you consider other career paths?
No, I never really thought about it. I still haven’t achieved everything I want here, in logistics. Once I feel that I’ve reached my maximum and stopped growing personally — then maybe I’ll consider something else.
What is the most valuable thing for you in your job?
The team. I now have a strong team in place. People understand their responsibilities, and it’s both easy and enjoyable to work with them.
What is the most valuable thing for you about Aurora as an employer?
“Aurora” restored my faith in Ukrainian business. In my previous company, I felt like just a resource. Here, it’s the opposite — people are the real value, the capital. I feel stability, security, and support.
What would you advise those who want to grow and develop at Aurora?
Don’t be afraid of change, keep learning, and continue developing. The company fully supports this.
