Do you remember how your first acquaintance with Avrora happened?
I had known about Avrora for a long time. I used to shop there regularly, including during my military service — the stores operated even in areas very close to active combat zones. Most often, we bought small electronics there: flashlights, power banks, and sometimes food items.
Avrora as a workplace was recommended to me by my godfather, who was already working here.
What influenced your choice in favor of Avrora as an employer?
I wouldn’t say I was actively considering other companies. I came for an interview at Avrora, they showed me everything — the warehouse, the office; explained the working conditions — and I liked it! The schedule suited me, as well as the proximity to home, because it’s important for me not only to have a good job, but also to have time for my family and everyday life.
Do you remember your first day at Avrora: what was your impression of the company and your team? Has that impression changed over time?
I’ve been working at Avrora for 9 months now. Everyone was friendly, explained everything, and helped me settle in. The relationships within the team haven’t changed — and that’s great! The only thing that has changed is me, because now I know where everything is and what exactly I need to do.
Can you tell us where you served and what your role was in the military?
From the beginning of the full-scale invasion, I joined the 24th Mohyliv-Podilskyi Border Guard Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, where I served for a year. Later, my unit became part of the Offensive Guard forces under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and I continued my service within the 15th Mobile Border Guard Detachment “Steel Border.” From the start to the end of my service, I carried out missions in an anti-tank unit. For completing combat tasks, I was awarded a state honor — the “Defender of the Fatherland” medal.
In which areas did you take part in operations, and what weapons did you use?
At first, in Donetsk region (Lyman direction), then in the city of Svatove (Luhansk region), later in Kharkiv region (Kupiansk), then Vovchansk, and the final area of my service was the Kursk region. We were equipped with Ukrainian anti-tank guided missile systems “Stugna” and foreign-made “Milan” systems.
How difficult (or easy) was it for you to return to civilian life after your service? And did your job help with that?
Family, friends… and overall, my son was recently born! I had to adapt quickly 😊
At work, I have a good, friendly team — that helps me “return” emotionally much faster. At the same time, I’d say my adaptation is still ongoing: I got used to the people I served with, I miss them… and here everything is completely different. It’s a calm environment, people treat you well, the working conditions are great, and there are plenty of benefits for employees and veterans, including bonuses, a convenient schedule, transportation, and discounts.
Avrora is a company where it’s quite easy to build a career vertically or switch directions. You’re currently working in logistics.Have you thought about how you’ll build your career further at Avrora?
I like logistics, and I definitely don’t want to change my field. For me, it’s physically manageable and straightforward work. I already feel at home here — I know everything and can do everything.
What advice would you give to veterans who are planning to join Avrora?
Come and give it a try! I think you’ll like it — the working conditions, the flexibility, and the team.
